Instructions for AP8048B
Input Connection:
- Connect the input voltage (2.7V to 5.5V) to the Vin pin.
- Ensure a bypass capacitor (typically 1μF ceramic) is placed close to the Vin pin for stability.
Output Configuration:
- The output voltage is fixed and does not require external resistors for setting the voltage.
- Place an output capacitor (at least 1μF) at the Vout pin to ensure stable operation.
Enable/Shutdown:
- The device can be enabled or shut down using the EN pin.
- Apply a logic high (above 1.2V) to enable the regulator.
- Pull the EN pin low (below 0.4V) to put the regulator into shutdown mode, reducing power consumption.
Thermal Considerations:
- For applications where the output current is near the maximum, ensure adequate heat dissipation.
- Monitor the operating temperature to avoid exceeding the maximum specified limit of 85°C.
PCB Layout:
- Keep the layout compact with short traces between the input and output capacitors and the regulator pins.
- Use wide traces for power paths to minimize inductance and resistance.
Protection Features:
- The AP8048B includes internal protections such as over-temperature and over-current protection to safeguard the device under fault conditions.
