Standard Operating Procedures for AHU Filter Cleaning and Inspection

AHU Filter Cleaning and Inspection

The work involves several key steps:

  • Filter Removal: Technicians are removing the pleated panel filters from the AHU filter racks.

  • High-Pressure Cleaning: The filters are being washed outdoors using a high-pressure water jet to remove accumulated dust, debris, and particulate matter.

  • Transportation & Reinstallation: After cleaning (and presumably drying), the filters are organized on trolleys and reinstalled into the unit to ensure optimal airflow and indoor air quality.

  • System Inspection: The images also show the internal components of the AHU, including the cooling coils located behind the filter banks, which are typically inspected for fouling during this process.

This type of maintenance is critical for maintaining the efficiency of the ACMV (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation) system, reducing energy consumption, and preventing the cooling coils from becoming clogged.
