Kitchen Story Sdn. Bhd. completed the lift decorative panel works for 2 whole building blocks at Middleton Condominium, delivering a cleaner, more modern and premium appearance to the lift lobby areas.
This project involved the supply, fabrication and installation of custom lift entrance decorative panels for multiple lift areas across both blocks. The design used a dark modern panel finish to create a strong visual frame around each lift entrance, improving the overall look of the common area while maintaining a practical and durable finish suitable for daily building use.
As a Penang-based custom cabinetry and interior fit-out company with in-house manufacturing capability, Kitchen Story handled the project with careful site coordination, measurement checking, material preparation, installation planning and final finishing control.
For this project, Kitchen Story completed:
Custom lift decorative panel fabrication and installation
Lift entrance wall panel cladding
Dark modern laminate-style panel finish
Panel cutting, edging and on-site fitting
Coordination for multiple lift areas across 2 building blocks
Site installation, adjustment and finishing works
Final checking for alignment, gap control and overall appearance
The lift decorative panels were designed to give the lift lobby a more modern, clean and professional appearance. The dark textured finish helps create a strong contrast against the light wall and grey flooring, making each lift entrance look more defined and visually balanced.
The design direction focuses on:
Modern condominium common area appearance
Clean vertical panel lines
Durable and practical finishing
Neat lift entrance framing
Consistent design across multiple lift locations
Long-term visual value for the building
One of the main challenges of this project was the scale of work. Since the project involved 2 whole building blocks, consistency was very important. Every lift entrance had to follow the same design direction, finishing quality and installation standard.
Another challenge was site accuracy. Lift entrance areas often come with different wall conditions, uneven surfaces, existing lift frames, control panels and tight working spaces. Each area required careful measurement and adjustment to ensure the panels could fit properly without affecting lift access, buttons, openings or safety clearance.
The installation also had to be arranged carefully because this was a common area used by residents, workers and management teams. The team needed to manage tools, materials and site cleanliness while working in active building spaces.
Kitchen Story carried out detailed site checking before and during installation to confirm measurements, wall conditions and panel fitting requirements. The panels were prepared according to site dimensions and adjusted during installation to achieve a neat and consistent result.
Our team focused on:
Accurate measurement before fabrication
Proper panel cutting and fitting
Consistent panel alignment between lift entrances
Neat edge finishing around lift doors and control panels
Careful on-site installation coordination
Reducing disruption to building access areas
Checking each completed lift entrance before handover
With in-house production and experienced installation support, Kitchen Story was able to maintain better control over fabrication quality, finishing consistency and installation progress.
The completed lift decorative panel works created a more polished and modern lift lobby appearance for Middleton Condominium. The dark feature panels enhance the lift entrance areas and give the common space a stronger design identity.
This project shows Kitchen Story’s capability in handling not only residential cabinetry, but also commercial, condominium and building common area interior fit-out works in Penang.
