A Rear Door Heat Exchanger (RDHx) is a high-efficiency liquid-to-air heat exchanger that replaces the standard rear door of a server rack. It neutralizes heat at the source, allowing racks of up to 50kW–75kW to be cooled without adding heat to the room.

1. How the RDHx Protects Your Infrastructure

The RDHx acts as a thermal "curtain." As the server fans push hot exhaust air through the door's chilled coils, the heat is transferred to the circulating liquid (water or dielectric fluid) and carried away to an external chiller or cooling tower.

A. Hydraulic Balancing and Flow Control

B. Condensation & Dew Point Management

In KL, the high ambient humidity is a constant threat. We calibrate the BMS (Building Management System) to ensure the chilled water supply temperature always remains above the room's dew point.

C. Vibration & Mechanical Integrity

We perform FFT Spectrum Analysis on Active RDHx fan arrays. Because these doors are heavy and move on hinges, any mechanical imbalance can translate into "rack sway," which can cause micro-fretting on electrical connectors or HDD read errors.
