| Application Eligibility |
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education's Foreign Language Letter [ 2020] No. 12 . 2. Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old and have graduated from high school. Applicants who will be under 18 years old as of September 1, 2025, must submit an original notarized guardianship certificate issued by a Tianjin notary office. The guardian must be a permanent resident of Tianjin. 3. Language skills: ( 1) Applicants for Chinese-taught courses must meet the following HSK test scores: International Education College undergraduate majors: New HSK Level 4 score of 180 or above; Other undergraduate majors: New HSK Level 5 score of 180 or above. Note : HSK stands for the Chinese Proficiency Test. For more information, please visit www.chinesetest.cn . Applicants whose native language is Chinese or whose high school education was conducted in Chinese may be exempted from submitting HSK scores upon approval by our school. ( 2) Applicants for English-taught courses must have an English proficiency level of IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 or above (applicants from English-speaking countries recognized by our school are exempted). 4. Applicants must be of good character, physically and mentally healthy, and willing to abide by Chinese laws and regulations as well as the rules and regulations of Tianjin University. |

Applicants should log in to the Tianjin University International Student Management System (Direct Contact E-Square COounselor to get a account) within the timeframe specified by Tianjin University, register, complete the application form, and upload the required application materials (see below for a list of materials). Applicants should also complete the application form and upload it to the "Other" section of the Tianjin University online application system . | Review and Admission |
Tianjin University will select applicants based on their high school academic performance, language proficiency, and interview or written examination scores (interview or written examination dates will be announced separately). Applicants should check their application progress and status via email or log in to the Tianjin University online application system. Admitted students (excluding those pre-admitted on the Chinese Government Scholarship) must prepay a deposit of 7,000 RMB and an application fee of 420 RMB within the specified timeframe and submit a screenshot of the payment receipt to the Tianjin University online application system ( tju.at0086.cn/student ). Upon receipt of the payment receipt, Tianjin University will issue electronic copies of the "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Studying in China" to admitted applicants in July . If a student chooses not to enroll at the university for personal reasons, the deposit and application fee will not be refunded. |

| Visa Application and Enrollment |
1. Admitted students should bring their ordinary passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Studying in China, Physical Examination Form for Foreigners, and all original physical examination reports to the Chinese embassy or consulate to apply for a visa to study in China (X1). They should then register at Tianjin University at the time specified in the admission notice with the above documents. 2. Tianjin University's fall registration period is typically in late August or early September. New students must bring their original degree certificates for university verification upon admission. They must also provide an original certified copy of their degree certificate issued by their graduating university or a certification agency. Those who do not meet the admission requirements will be disqualified. |
