Certificate in Engineering and Information Technology at PSB Academy is a 6-month on-campus certificate delivered in English at the Main campus — complete 6 modules in 6 months covering both engineering and IT foundations.

After the certificate, progress to PSB Academy’s Engineering or IT Diploma and subsequently a bachelor’s degree with university partners (subject to university approval). Besides offering a comprehensive overview of the use of English in the work environment context, this module exposes students to the various techniques/skills of oral and written communication.
Academic Reading and Writing 1
  • There has been a need to improve the English quality of our students and provide them continual support at their certificate levels. This module is designed for students who are enrolled in certificate programmes to work intensively on their reading and writing skills. Good reading and writing skills are the keys to understanding their subjects and effectively engage in class activities. These classes will address a variety of key demands of writing and reading assignments on their courses, focusing on both academic and language skills and the ability to write.
Introduction to Internet of Things (IoT)
  • This module provides students with the necessary knowledge about the Internet of Things and how it enables the Digital Transformation along with emerging technologies such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, and the increased attention to cybersecurity. The module also introduces the importance of the new Intent-Based Networking that uses a software-driven approach and machine learning to be able to connect and secure tens of billions of new devices with ease.
Design Thinking
  • Design thinking is a creative human-centred approach to solve complex problems. Design thinking converts need into demand. In this module, students will learn the different stages of the design thinking approach, and the various methods supporting each of the stages. Students work in small groups to gain a deep understanding of users’ needs, and will prototype and test innovations to enhance performance.
