Product Overview

The PowerLogic PM5000 Series is designed for electrical distribution monitoring, energy visibility and basic power quality analysis. It helps facility, energy and electrical teams monitor current, voltage, power, power factor, energy, demand, unbalance, harmonics, alarms and historical logs depending on the selected model.

The range is suitable for main incomers, sub-main feeders, MCC panels, distribution boards, tenant metering, utility metering points, production areas and critical electrical loads.

Positioning: PM5000 is ideal for practical multi-function metering, sub-metering, demand management, power factor review, harmonic visibility and IoTWatt 4.0 integration.

Why PM5000 Matters

PM5000 gives site teams better visibility than basic panel meters, without moving into a high-end power quality platform.

  • Energy monitoring
  • Sub-metering
  • Demand profile
  • Power factor review
  • Harmonic visibility
  • Alarm logs
  • EMS integration

Typical Monitoring Architecture

PM5000 meters are installed at electrical panels and communicate through RS485 or Ethernet, depending on the model. Meter data can be collected by EMS, BMS, SCADA, EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert, IoTWatt 4.0 or other Modbus-based systems.

Power Quality and Network Visibility

PM5000 meters provide practical power quality visibility for electrical networks. Depending on model, the meters support total harmonic distortion, total demand distortion, individual harmonics, unbalance, min/max readings, demand values, alarm logs and event logs.

Power Quality Function Purpose Typical Benefit
THD / thd Monitors voltage and current harmonic distortion. Helps identify distortion from VSDs, UPS systems, rectifiers and nonlinear loads.
Individual Harmonics Provides harmonic order visibility up to 15th, 31st or 63rd depending on model. Supports troubleshooting of harmonic sources and affected equipment.
TDD Tracks total demand distortion for current distortion review. Useful for electrical quality and harmonic review workflows.
Unbalance Monitors voltage and current unbalance. Helps detect phase loading issues that may affect motors, transformers and panels.
Min / Max with Timestamp Records when important parameters reach minimum and maximum values. Supports maintenance, load review and troubleshooting.
Alarms Setpoint and digital alarms notify abnormal electrical conditions. Improves operating visibility and response to network issues.
