The Powerweld HT-18 is a premium, basic iron powder, low-hydrogen electrode engineered for 490MPa high-tensile steel applications. Designed for superior mechanical integrity and operator appeal, it is a versatile choice for heavy-duty industrial projects across Malaysia, from fabrication shops to offshore construction sites.
As a leading welding supplier in Malaysia, we provide genuine Powerweld consumables that meet the rigorous demands of structural steel, pressure vessels, and piping.
Exceptional Low-Temperature Toughness: Formulated with controlled C-Mn chemistry, providing excellent impact properties down to -20°C in both "as welded" and "stress relieved" conditions.
All-Position Capability: Offers outstanding performance in all positions (except vertical down), making it ideal for complex structural joints and pipe welding.
High Efficiency & Smooth Arc: The basic iron powder coating ensures a smooth-running arc with low spatter on both AC and DC welding currents.
The HT-18 is the electrode for various sectors in Malaysia:
Oil & Gas: Pressure vessels and high-pressure piping.
Construction: Heavy structural girders, beams, and bridge components.
Maintenance: Repair of earth-moving and mining equipment.
Marine: Shipbuilding and offshore structural repairs.
To maintain the "H10 and H8" low-hydrogen status and prevent porosity or cracking:
Rebaking: If exposed to moisture, rebake electrodes for a maximum of 2 hours at 300°C.
Storage: Store in a hot box (quiver) at 100–120°C immediately after rebaking or after opening a fresh pack.
Environmental Care: Avoid storage in poor, damp environments as cardboard packs can re-absorb moisture quickly.
