Description
The INTERLOCK-KAR is an heavy-duty, non-contact safety interlocking device manufactured by Comitronic-BTI. It is engineered to control access and protect personnel entering dangerous machine zones, such as robotic enclosures, palletisers, and automated production cells.
Key Specifications & Features
- Dual-Layer Security: Uses a contactless Acotom® coded electronic process to detect the bolt alongside an AXKEF® RFID key recognition system containing over 16 million code variations to completely eliminate fraud.
- High Holding Force: Provides a powerful holding mechanical resistance of up to 8000N to keep heavy safety doors locked during operation.
- Anti-Tamper & Robust Build: Features an ergonomic INOX 316L stainless steel handle keeper. It is completely immune to external magnetic interference, preventing override attempts using standard magnets.
- Visual Diagnostics: Includes a built-in, touch-sensitive multicolor LED button that communicates live gate statuses directly on the device.
- Integrated Lockout-Tagout (LOTO): Provides dual physical padlock slots along the main bolt axis so technicians working inside dead zones can secure their positions safely.
Operational Sequence
- Request Entry: Press the touch-sensitive button; if safe, the system cuts machine power, releases the lock, and the LED indicator changes color.
- Technician Lockout: The operator removes the customizable RFID key and clips a personal padlock onto the open bolt handle.
- Safety Isolation: While the gate stays open and padlocked, the internal safety circuits are trapped open, making it impossible to restart the machine or robot accidentally.
- System Reset: To resume work, the technician must exit, clear all padlocks, reinsert the RFID key, close the handle, and acknowledge the flashing restart command.
