Cleveland RT i-Forged Wedge
The Cleveland RT i-Forged Wedge is designed to provide a soft feel and consistent performance, blending a tour-preferred shape with modern forgiveness for advanced players.
Material and Construction The wedge is forged from S15C carbon steel to create a very soft feel at impact. To utilize this material without compromising the club's structural integrity, the wedge is built using a "Condense Forging" process. This technique maintains the soft feel on the face while keeping the hosel strong and durable, comparable to previous models.
Profile and Alignment The head shape is slightly more compact than previous iterations, catering to the visual preferences of experienced players. The design features a straighter leading edge and a reduced upper toe area, creating a more linear topline. This straight silhouette, similar to Srixon irons, is intended to help players align the clubface squarely and comfortably to the target.
Optimized Center of Gravity To improve stability, weight has been shaved from the heel and repositioned toward the toe. This shifts the center of gravity closer to the actual impact zone, resulting in more consistent contact.
Loft-Specific Sole Grinds The sole grinds are tailored based on the loft to match the most common shot types for those clubs:
48°, 50°, and 52° Lofts: These feature a slightly narrower, orthodox sole width designed primarily for full swings and downward strikes.
54°, 56°, 58°, and 60° Lofts: These higher lofts utilize a wider sole with specific relief on the heel side. This shaping makes it easier to open the face for approach shots and bunker play, allowing the club to slide under the ball smoothly.
Spin Control The face features HydraZip technology, which applies loft-specific surface milling to help maintain friction in wet conditions or out of the rough. Alongside this, the ULTIZIP design incorporates up to 19 deep, narrow grooves to channel away moisture and debris, providing reliable spin control across a variety of lies.\
