• The Civil Engineering (Chinese-taught) undergraduate programme (4 years) is delivered in Chinese and covers calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics, university physics, engineering drawing, theoretical mechanics, mechanics of materials, structural mechanics, soil mechanics, foundation engineering, principles of reinforced concrete design, principles of steel structure design, civil engineering construction, surveying, and integrated professional practice with capstone project, building foundations in civil engineering, structural design and analysis, and civil engineering construction applications through coursework and projects (aligned with “Core subjects” and the application process below; modules follow programme notices).

Career pathways (overview)

• Graduates may pursue roles in building and structural design, road and bridge and municipal engineering, geotechnical and foundation engineering, and construction and project management, including structural calculation and drafting assistance, construction technical documentation support, surveying and setting-out assistance, and project coordination and technical support, subject to employers’ requirements and recruitment policies.
• They may also pursue further postgraduate study in civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, disaster prevention and mitigation engineering, and related interdisciplinary MA/PhD programmes, subject to admissions.
