Kabinet Sifu completed a custom built-in cabinet project at Tropicana Bay Residences, designed to transform the living room and master bedroom into a more functional, elegant and comfortable home environment.
This condominium project focuses on two important areas of daily living: the living room, where family and guests gather, and the master bedroom, where storage, comfort and personal routine matter most. The design combines modern cabinetry, practical storage planning, warm wood textures, soft neutral tones and selected display features to create a home that feels organized, refined and personalized.
From the custom altar cabinet to the minimalist TV cabinet, floor-to-ceiling wardrobe and dressing table area, every element was planned to suit the homeowner’s space, lifestyle and design preference.
Project Type: Condominium Built-In Cabinet / Partial Renovation
Project Location: Tropicana Bay Residences Bayan Lepas Penang
House Type: Condominium
Year Completed: 2025
Renovation Area: Living Room, Master Bedroom
Scope of Work: TV cabinet, altar cabinet, wardrobe, dressing table, display cabinet, storage cabinet, bedroom cabinetry
Design Style: Modern, warm, elegant, functional, culturally integrated
The homeowner wanted a home that could feel modern and comfortable while still supporting daily storage needs and cultural living requirements.
For condominium spaces, the challenge is often to maximize storage without making the interior feel heavy or overcrowded. The design also needed to balance modern aesthetics with a meaningful altar feature in the living area.
The design needed to:
Kabinet Sifu proposed a customized cabinet solution for the living room and master bedroom.
For the living room, a custom-built altar cabinet was designed as a meaningful feature at the entrance/living area. The arched wood display niche creates a soft and respectful focal point, while the lower cabinet provides practical concealed storage. This allows the altar area to feel special without looking separate from the overall home design.
Beside the living space, a minimalist floating TV cabinet was designed with clean lines, hidden storage and a light wood countertop detail. This keeps the TV area visually light while still providing useful storage for media items and daily essentials.
For the master bedroom, a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe system was designed to maximize storage capacity. The wardrobe includes a combination of concealed storage, glass display sections, hanging areas, drawer compartments and customizable storage zones. The dressing table area was also planned with tall display panels, drawer storage and a mirror feature to support daily grooming and organization.
The material selection focused on a warm modern condominium interior with a balance of elegance, comfort and durability.
Warm wood-tone finishing was used for the altar cabinet and selected wardrobe sections to create a natural and calming atmosphere. Soft neutral cabinet panels help maintain a bright and spacious look, while darker framed glass sections in the master bedroom add depth and a premium touch.
For the TV cabinet, light wood and neutral cabinet finishes were selected to keep the living area simple and clean. The floating cabinet design also helps the room feel more open and less bulky.
In the master bedroom, tinted glass wardrobe doors and black framing create a more luxurious appearance, while internal lighting and open shelving help improve visibility and display function. The dressing area uses a darker cabinet frame with lighter drawer fronts to create contrast while maintaining a modern, organized look.
Cabinet Carcass - Colour Melamine Panel with ABS Edging, GM Glass Door, High Pressure Laminates (HPL)
Hardware & Mechanism - DTC soft closing hinges, Blum Soft Closing Drawer System
The completed project created a more refined, organized and meaningful home interior. The living room now has a clean TV feature and a custom altar cabinet that blends tradition with modern design. The master bedroom has stronger storage capacity, better wardrobe organization and a more elegant dressing area.
The final result is a modern condominium renovation that combines culture, comfort and everyday functionality. Each cabinet was designed not only to store items, but also to enhance the way the homeowner lives and uses the space daily.
This project shows how custom cabinetry can transform a condominium into a more personal, practical and beautiful home.
