R404A is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) blend (mostly R125, R143a, and R134a) developed to replace older refrigerants like R502 and, in many cases, R22 in low and medium-temperature refrigeration systems such as freezers, coolers, display cabinets, transport refrigeration, and industrial chillers.
Commonly used in commercial refrigeration systems where stable low-temperature performance is needed.
