Nippon Paint 9000 Gloss Finish is a premium oil-based alkyd enamel paint specifically formulated for the protection and decoration of both wood and metal surfaces. Renowned for its exceptionally high-gloss retention, this architectural-grade finish provides a smooth, mirror-like surface that enhances the aesthetic appeal of any project.
It is highly durable, easy to apply, and offers excellent leveling properties, ensuring a finish free from brush marks. Designed for both interior and exterior applications, it acts as a tough shield against weathering and fungal growth, making it the preferred choice for doors, window frames, grilles, railings, and industrial machinery.
Binder Type: High-quality Alkyd Resin.
Gloss Level: High Gloss.
Drying Time (at 30°C): Touch Dry in 2 hours; Hard Dry in 8 hours.
Recocoating Interval: Minimum 8 hours to ensure a stable secondary layer.
Theoretical Coverage: 9 – 11 m² per litre per coat (depending on surface porosity).
Volume Solids: Approximately 50% ± 2%.
Flash Point: 38°C (Flammable; ensure proper ventilation).
Mixing: Stir the paint thoroughly with a clean wooden or metal agitator before use to ensure the color pigments and resin are perfectly blended.
Thinning: For brush or roller application, the paint is ready to use, but can be thinned with 5% Nippon Paint 9000 Thinner. For conventional spray, thin by 10%–15%.
Method: Apply in two coats for maximum depth of color and gloss. For the best result on large flat areas, use a high-quality roller followed by a light "tipping" with a brush to remove any bubbles.
For Metal Surfaces:
Primer: 1 coat of Red Oxide Primer or Zinc Phosphate Primer.
Undercoat: 1 coat of Nippon Paint 9000 Undercoat (to improve opacity).
Finish: 2 coats of Nippon Paint 9000 Gloss Finish.
For Wood Surfaces:
Undercoat: 1 coat of Nippon Paint 9000 Undercoat.
Finish: 2 coats of Nippon Paint 9000 Gloss Finish.
Cleaning: Ensure the surface is dry and free from dirt, grease, wax, and oil. Use solvent cleaning for oily metal surfaces.
Rust Removal: For steel and iron, remove all rust and mill scale using a wire brush or sandpaper (St 2 or St 3) until the surface is clean.
Wood Sanding: For timber, sand the surface in the direction of the wood grain using suitable sandpaper. Wipe away all dust before priming.
Old Coatings: Remove all loose, peeling, or powdery paint. If the existing paint is in good condition, lightly sand the glossy surface to provide a "key" for better adhesion.
Moisture Check: Ensure the substrate moisture content is low (below 15% for wood). Do not apply during high humidity or rain, as it will dull the gloss and delay drying.
