Paint Type: Water-based Interior Emulsion.
Finishing: Mid-Sheen / Satin (Pearl-like glow).
Drying Time (at 30°C): Touch Dry in 30 minutes; Hard Dry in 1 hour.
Recocoating Interval: Minimum 2 hours between coats for optimal film build.
Theoretical Coverage: 10 – 12 m² per litre per coat (varies by surface porosity).
Volume Solids: Approximately 34% by volume.
Special Features: Scrub-resistant, anti-fungus, and lead/mercury free.
Mixing: Stir the paint thoroughly with a clean agitator before use to ensure a uniform consistency and even distribution of the satin luster.
Thinning: The paint is ready for use. For application on highly porous substrates, you may thin the first coat with a maximum of 5% clean water. Do not over-thin, as it will reduce the sheen level.
Method: Apply using a high-quality synthetic brush or a short-nap mohair roller to achieve the smoothest satin texture. Two coats are recommended for a consistent, professional finish.
Standard Interior Wall System:
Sealer/Primer: 1 coat of Nippon Paint 5200 Wall Sealer or 5500 Wall Sealer (to provide a solid foundation and resist alkali).
Finish: 2 coats of Nippon Paint Satin Glo.
For Repainting (Sound Surfaces):
Finish: 2 coats of Nippon Paint Satin Glo directly after cleaning and light sanding of the old paint film.
Cleaning: The surface must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dust, or wax. Use a damp cloth to wipe away surface grit before painting.
Curing Time: New masonry or plastered walls must be allowed to cure for at least 28 days. Ensure moisture content is below 16% and alkalinity is below pH 9.
Defect Repair: Fill all cracks, holes, and surface unevenness with a suitable interior grade putty or filler. Sand smooth once dry to ensure the satin sheen doesn't highlight imperfections.
Fungus Treatment: If the wall is affected by mold or algae, treat it with Nippon Paint Fungicidal Wash. Scrape off the dead growth and allow the wall to dry completely.
Old Coating Removal: Remove all loose, peeling, or powdery paint. If the old surface is chalky, apply a coat of oil-based Nippon Paint 5100 Wall Sealer to properly bind the surface before applying Satin Glo.
