Nippon Paint Momento Cemento Clear Coat is a water-based acrylic clear finish designed to protect interior textured walls from stains, dust, and general wear. It acts as a transparent shield that deepens the color of the underlying concrete effect while making the surface significantly easier to clean. Its low-VOC, low-odour formula ensures a safer environment for residential interiors, cafes, and office spaces seeking a raw, urban aesthetic.
Paint Type: Water-based acrylic.
Finishing: Semi-Gloss.
Drying Time: Touch Dry in 30 minutes; Hard Dry in 2 hours.
Recoating Interval: Minimum 4 hours between coats.
Theoretical Coverage: 10 – 12 m² per litre per coat.
Volume Solids: Approximately 30%.
Shelf Life: 36 months in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
Preparation: Stir the clear coat thoroughly before use. Do not thin with water unless necessary (maximum 5% dilution).
Application Method: Apply 1–2 even coats using a high-quality short-nap roller or a stainless steel trowel, depending on the desired final texture enhancement.
Post-Application: Ensure the room is well-ventilated during application and drying to achieve the clearest finish.
Undercoat (1 Coat): Momento® Cemento Primer.
Texture Coat (2-3 Coats): Momento® Cemento Texture.
Topcoat (1-2 Coats): Momento® Cemento Clear Coat.
Curing Time: Ensure the underlying Momento® Cemento Texture coat is completely dry (at least 24 hours) before applying the Clear Coat.
Surface Inspection: The surface must be free from dust, loose particles, and any grease that may have accumulated during the texturing process.
Light Sanding: If the texture is overly sharp or irregular, lightly sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper and wipe away all dust.
Dryness Check: Confirm there is no trapped moisture within the texture layers to prevent clouding or "blushing" of the clear film.
Environment: Ensure the application area is free from airborne dust or debris that could settle on the wet clear coat and affect the smoothness.
