The Trimstar PVC Plaster Groove Joint (GL Series) is an architectural finishing solution designed to create precise, decorative recessed "U-groove" lines on plastered or rendered walls. Manufactured by Hengsheng Hardware, these profiles provide a clean, contemporary aesthetic while serving as a functional expansion joint to control surface cracking.

Constructed from high-grade, durable PVC, these groove joints are a rust-proof alternative to traditional metal profiles. They are ideal for both interior and exterior applications, particularly for large wall areas where visual "breaks" or architectural features are required. The GL series is designed to sit perfectly within a 20mm cement plaster system, ensuring a uniform depth and perfectly straight lines without the need for manual grooving.

Application Instruction

• Marking: Draw a reference line on the substrate (brickwork/concrete) where the groove line is intended.

• Fixing: Apply small dabs of cement mortar or adhesive along the marked line.

• Installation: Press the PVC Groove Joint firmly into the adhesive dabs. Use a spirit level or laser level to ensure the profile is perfectly straight and flush with the intended plaster thickness.

• Mechanical Key: Ensure the mortar covers the base flanges of the profile to lock it securely to the wall.

• Plastering: Apply the cement plaster or render coat on both sides of the groove. Use the edges of the PVC profile as a screed guide to achieve a smooth, consistent finish.

• Cleanup: Clean any excess plaster from the internal "U" channel before it hardens to maintain a crisp recessed line.

Recommended Coating System

• Substrate: 110mm Thick Brick, blockwork, or concrete walls.

• Base Coat: Cement Render/Plaster (aligned to the depth of the groove joint).

• Finish Coat: Emulsion paint, weather-resistant exterior paint, or textured architectural coatings. The internal groove can be painted in a contrasting color for added visual impact.

Surface Preparation

• Cleanliness: Ensure the wall surface is free from dust, oil, and loose debris.

• Alignment: Check for any major structural protrusions on the brickwork that might cause the PVC profile to bend or bow.

• Pre-wetting: Dampen the brickwork surface slightly before applying adhesive dabs to ensure a strong bond, particularly in high-temperature environments.
