Application Instruction

• Unrolling: Start at one end of the room or walkway and unroll the Safeguard Mat across the floor surface.

• Cutting: Use a standard utility knife or heavy-duty scissors to trim the mat around corners, pillars, or fixed equipment.

• Joining: For large areas, overlap the edges of the mats by approximately 50mm. Secure the seams using high-tack floor protection tape to prevent tripping hazards and liquid seepage.

• Securing: Ensure the mat lies flat. If necessary, tape the perimeter to the floor to prevent movement in high-traffic zones.
• Maintenance: Sweep or mop the mat surface regularly to remove debris that could eventually be ground into the mat or tracked elsewhere.

Recommended Coating System

• Temporary Protection: This product is a temporary physical barrier and does not require a coating system.

• Post-Removal: After construction is complete and the mat is removed, any adhesive residue from joining tapes should be cleaned with a manufacturer-approved floor cleaner.

Surface Preparation

• Debris Removal: Thoroughly sweep and vacuum the floor before laying the Safeguard Mat. Any grit or stones trapped underneath the mat can act as abrasives and damage the finish you are trying to protect.

• Dryness: Ensure the floor is completely dry. Trapping moisture under a waterproof PVC mat for extended periods can lead to discoloration or mold growth on certain natural stone or wood finishes.
• Curing Time: If protecting newly laid screed or coatings, ensure the substrate has met the manufacturer's minimum curing time before covering.
