Nippon Paint Q-Shield Extra is a premium water-based acrylic emulsion paint specifically formulated to provide durable protection for exterior wall surfaces.
Paint Type: Water-based (Exterior)
Finishing: Low Sheen / Matt
Binder: Pure Acrylic Emulsion
Thinning: Maximum 5% with clean water (preferably not diluted for best performance)
Touch Dry: 20 minutes (depending on temperature and humidity)
Hard Dry: 1 hour
Recoating Interval: 2 – 3 hours
Theoretical Coverage: 10 – 12 m² per litre per coat
No. of Coats: 2 coats
Application Method: Apply using a high-quality Brush or Roller.
Dilution: Ready for use. If necessary, dilute with no more than 5% water to maintain the film integrity and protection level.
Cleaning: Clean all painting equipment with clean water immediately after use.
Note: Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Avoid painting during wet weather or when humidity is very high.
Sealer/Primer (1 Coat): 5100 Wall Sealer / Advance 8000 Wall Sealer / Expresskote Sealer / 5400 Exterior Sealer. For powdery or skim-coated surfaces, use Hi-Bond Wall Sealer or Acrylic 5170 Wall Sealer.
Topcoat (2 Coats): Q-Shield Extra.
General Cleaning: Surface must be dry, clean, and free from grease, oil, dust, and loose matter.
Defect Removal: Remove all loose or defective paint and powdery residues by scraping or high-pressure water jetting.
Biological Treatment: Treat areas affected by fungus or algae growth with a suitable fungicidal wash solution.
Repair: Fill cracks and uneven surfaces with suitable exterior-grade fillers and sand until smooth.
Moisture & Alkalinity: Ensure wall moisture content is below 16% (protimeter) and alkalinity is below pH 9 before application. New walls should be allowed to cure for at least 28 days.
Spot Priming: Spot prime any repaired or bare areas with a Nippon Exterior Wall Sealer.
