Nippon Paint Hydro Wood & Metal Primer is a high-performance, water-based acrylic primer specifically formulated for use on both wood and metal surfaces. This eco-friendly primer serves as an excellent foundation by providing superior adhesion and corrosion resistance, ensuring the longevity of the topcoat. Unlike traditional solvent-based primers, it has a very low odor and low VOC content, making it ideal for interior and exterior applications where air quality is a priority. It is fast-drying and features excellent alkaline resistance, making it versatile for various substrates including timber, galvanized iron, and aluminum. It is an essential component of a sustainable painting system, providing a smooth base for water-based topcoats.

Wood: Surface must be dry and free from dirt, grease, and other contaminants. Sand the surface with suitable sandpaper to remove loose wood fibers and ensure a smooth base. Wipe off all dust before priming.
Metal: Surface must be dry and free from grease, oil, and rust. For ferrous metal, remove rust by wire brushing or sanding. For non-ferrous metal (galvanized iron/aluminum), degrease the surface with a suitable solvent before application.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Remove all loose or defective paint film. Ensure the existing surface is clean and dry. Lightly sand the surface to provide a mechanical key for better adhesion.
