Nippon Paint EA7 Finish is a high-performance, two-pack amine-adduct cured epoxy coating specifically designed for internal use. It provides a beautiful semi-gloss finish that balances aesthetic appeal with exceptional functional durability.
This coating is highly resistant to abrasion, impact, and a broad spectrum of chemicals, including oils, solvents, and mild acids. It is the go-to solution for high-traffic environments that require a cleaner look than a standard matte finish, such as showrooms, commercial offices, laboratories, and light-industrial warehouses. Its smooth surface ensures ease of maintenance while providing a long-lasting protective barrier for concrete and masonry.
Paint Type: Two-pack Epoxy (Solvent-based)
Finish: Semi-Gloss
Color: Wide range of decorative and industrial colors
Mixing Ratio: 4 parts Base to 1 part Hardener (by volume)
Pot Life: 6 – 8 hours after mixing (at 25°C – 30°C)
8.0 m² per litre (at 50μm DFT)
Drying Time (at 30°C):
Touch Dry: 2 hours
Hard Dry: 16 hours
Full Cure: 7 days (for maximum chemical resistance)
Recoating Interval: Minimum 16 hours; Maximum 7 days
Shelf Life: Up to 24 months in a tightly sealed container
Mixing: Stir the Base (Part A) thoroughly. Add the Hardener (Part B) and mix until the color and consistency are completely uniform. Allow an induction time of 10–15 minutes before application.
Thinning: Use Nippon SA-65 Thinner.
Brush/Roller: Add 5–10% thinner if necessary.
Conventional Spray: Add 10–20% thinner.
Application Method: A short-nap mohair roller is preferred for large floor areas to achieve a uniform semi-gloss appearance. Brush is suitable for edging and small sections.
Cleaning: Clean all tools immediately with SA-65 Thinner after use.
For a professional and long-lasting result on concrete surfaces:
Primer (1 Coat): Nippon Paint Aqua Epoxy Primer or Nippon Paint Penetrative Epoxy Primer.
Finish (2 Coats): Nippon Paint EA7 Finish.
New Concrete: Must be cured for at least 28 days. The surface must be dry (moisture content < 4%) and free from laitance, dust, and curing compounds.
Cleaning: Remove all oil, grease, and contaminants using a degreaser or detergent. For smooth concrete, mechanical grinding or light acid etching is recommended to ensure a proper mechanical bond.
Old Paint: Remove all loose, peeling, or unstable paint films. Lightly sand existing sound epoxy coatings to provide a "key" for the new layer.
Environmental Conditions: Do not apply if the relative humidity exceeds 85% or if the surface temperature is less than 3°C above the dew point.
