Courses (overview)

• The Aerospace Engineering (Chinese-taught) undergraduate programme (four years) covers advanced mathematics, engineering and fluid mechanics, fundamentals of aerodynamics, flight mechanics and aircraft conceptual design, aerospace structures and materials, aero-engines and propulsion fundamentals, avionics and flight control, and spacecraft systems and orbital mechanics, developing capabilities in aerospace-engineering foundations, aircraft conceptual and structural design, propulsion and control-system analysis, and aerospace and aeronautical-equipment R&D through coursework, laboratory training and engineering projects (aligned with “Core subjects” and the application process below; modules follow programme notices).

Career pathways (overview)

• Graduates may pursue roles across aircraft and aviation manufacturers (COMAC / AVIC etc.), aero-engine companies, UAV and general-aviation companies, satellite and spacecraft companies, launch-vehicle and aerospace-system groups (CASC / CASIC etc.), defence and military aerospace-related companies, civil-aviation and aircraft-maintenance (MRO) companies, and aerospace research institutes and space-science organisations, including aircraft conceptual and structural design, aerodynamics and fluid simulation, flight control and avionics, aero-engines and propulsion systems, spacecraft systems and orbital analysis, prototyping and flight testing, technical support and project management (subject to employers’ licensing and role requirements).
• Further postgraduate study into aerospace engineering, aircraft design and engineering, aerospace propulsion, flight-vehicle control and guidance, aerodynamics, mechanical engineering, control science and engineering, mechanics or aligned MSc/PhD tracks may be pursued subject to admissions.
