• The Metal Materials Engineering (Chinese-taught) undergraduate programme (4 years) is delivered in Chinese and covers physical metallurgy of metals, mechanical properties of materials, phase diagrams and phase transformations, materials corrosion and protection, heat treatment of metal materials, metal materials testing technology, powder metallurgy, and engineering materials, building foundations in physical metallurgy of metals, mechanical properties of materials, phase diagrams and phase transformations, materials corrosion and protection, heat treatment of metal materials, metal materials testing technology, powder metallurgy, and engineering materials through coursework and projects (aligned with “Core subjects” and the application process below; modules follow programme notices).

Career pathways (overview)

• Graduates may pursue roles in iron and steel and non-ferrous metal enterprises, machinery manufacturing and automotive parts, aerospace and defence materials, materials heat treatment and surface treatment, and materials testing and R&D institutions, including physical metallurgy of metals and mechanical properties of materials application support, phase diagrams and phase transformations and materials corrosion and protection technology support, heat treatment of metal materials and metal materials testing technology coordination, and powder metallurgy and engineering materials application support, subject to employers’ requirements and recruitment policies.
• They may also pursue further postgraduate study in metal materials engineering, materials science and engineering, metallurgical engineering, materials physics and chemistry, and related MA/PhD programmes, subject to admissions.
