Description

Ampleye Scleral GP: The 4-Zone Masterpiece for Irregular Corneas & Ocular Surface Disease

The Ampleye Scleral GP is not just a lens; it is a custom-engineered prosthetic device. Utilizing Spline Science Technology, it seamlessly connects four independent zones to vault the entire cornea and limbus, landing gently on the sclera for unmatched stability and comfort.

 Solving the "Corneal Insult" Challenge

Traditional hard lenses that touch the apex of a Keratoconic cone can cause scarring and pain. Ampleye eliminates this risk by "vaulting" (hovering over) the cornea entirely. The space between the lens and eye is filled with a preservative-free saline reservoir, creating a HydroLock effect that heals the ocular surface while providing 20/20 vision.

The Ampleye 4-Zone Architecture

1. Central Vault Zone (CVZ)

Controls the primary sagittal height to clear the cornea apex. Adjustable in 25-micron steps for microscopic precision.

2. Peripheral Cornea Zone (PCZ)

Acts as a "hinge" to lift or lower the lens over the peripheral cornea without affecting the central fit.

3. Limbal Lift Zone (LLZ)

Ensures 360-degree clearance of the sensitive limbal stem cells, crucial for long-term eye health.

4. Scleral Landing Zone (SLZ)

Available with Toric Haptics as standard to align with the uneven shape of the sclera, preventing redness and blanching.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Who is the Ampleye Scleral lens designed for?
It is designed for patients with irregular corneas (Keratoconus, PMD), post-surgical complications (Post-LASIK/RK), and severe Dry Eye or Sjögren’s Syndrome.

2. What makes the Ampleye fitting process easier?
Unlike other brands, Ampleye uses a single 9-lens diagnostic set to cover the entire 15.0mm to 17.0mm diameter range, simplifying the trial process for the practitioner.

3. Can I get Ampleye in a multifocal design?
Yes. Ampleye offers a front-surface, center-near multifocal option with adds from +1.00 to +3.50, perfect for presbyopic patients with irregular corneas.
4. What is the standard lens thickness?
The standard center thickness is 0.30mm (300 microns), providing excellent structural integrity while maintaining high oxygen permeability.
5. Are there special markings on the lens?
Yes. The lens features laser-etched rotation marks at 3 and 9 o’clock to denote the flat axis, and a sag indicator at 6 o’clock for precise orientation during the fit.
