Schneider Electric PowerLogic PM700 Series
PowerLogic PM700 Series Power Meters
Schneider Electric PowerLogic PM700 Series meters are compact legacy power-monitoring units used for feeder metering, distribution board monitoring, basic energy visibility, electrical network supervision and Modbus-based monitoring applications.
The PM700 Series includes PM700, PM700P, PM710 and PM750 models. The series was commonly used in industrial and commercial LV electrical panels as a digital replacement for analogue meters, providing three-phase metering, local display, basic power quality visibility, min/max readings and communication or pulse output options depending on model.

Product Overview
The PowerLogic PM700 Series was designed to provide the main measurement capability required to monitor an electrical installation in a compact panel meter format. It is suitable for feeder monitoring, distribution boards, switchboards, generator panels, MCCs, UPS systems and general electrical network monitoring.
Existing PM700 Series meters can still be useful as data sources where they are already installed and operating correctly. For new installations, replacement planning or expansion projects, modern PowerLogic PM5000 / PM5500 / PM8000 series meters should normally be reviewed.
Legacy product note: The PowerLogic PM700 Series is a legacy meter family. Existing installed meters can be reviewed, integrated or replaced depending on site condition, communication availability, metering objective and IoTWatt 4.0 integration requirement.
Typical Monitoring Architecture
PM700 Series meters are installed at the electrical panel. Depending on model, data can be read locally, collected by pulse output, or integrated digitally through RS485 Modbus into EMS, BMS, SCADA, gateway systems or IoTWatt 4.0.

Communication and Integration
PM700 Series integration depends strongly on the exact model. PM700 and PM700P are mainly local or pulse-based meters. PM710 and PM750 support RS485 Modbus communication and are more suitable for remote monitoring.
| Integration Requirement |
PM700 Series Capability |
| Local Panel Display |
Supported across the PM700 Series. |
| Pulse-Based kWh Monitoring |
Available on PM700P and PM750 models. |
| RS485 Modbus Monitoring |
Available on PM710 and PM750 models. |
| EMS / BMS / SCADA Integration |
Possible for PM710 and PM750 through RS485 Modbus. PM700P can be used for pulse-based energy monitoring only. |
| IoTWatt 4.0 Integration |
PM710 and PM750 can be integrated through RS485 gateway. PM700P can be used for basic pulse-based kWh monitoring. |
| Ethernet Integration |
Not built into the PM700 Series. Use an RS485-to-Ethernet or RS485-to-MQTT gateway for PM710 / PM750. |
Integration note: For IoTWatt 4.0, PM710 and PM750 can normally be connected through RS485 using a compatible Modbus gateway such as RS2LAN, RS2MQTT, RS2WLAN or another supported gateway. PM700P can be connected only as a pulse-based kWh source.
Replacement and Upgrade Guide
Since the PM700 Series is a legacy product range, replacement planning should consider both the existing metering requirement and the future data requirement. For basic metering, a PM5000 / PM5100 type model may be sufficient. For more detailed logging, harmonics or Ethernet communication, PM5300 / PM5500 / PM5600 / PM8000 type models should be reviewed.

Integration with IoTWatt 4.0
Existing PM700 Series meters can be used as a data source for IoTWatt 4.0 where communication or pulse access is available. This helps older sites extend legacy metering into modern dashboards, energy audit workflows, EECA reporting and energy performance monitoring.
- Monitor kWh, kW, current, voltage and power factor values from PM710 / PM750 where RS485 data is available.
- Use PM700P or PM750 pulse output for basic kWh monitoring where Modbus access is not available.
- Use data for load profiling, baseline development and energy performance tracking.
- Support energy audit findings with existing measured electrical data.
- Identify abnormal consumption, load changes and peak demand behaviour.
- Plan phased migration from PM700 Series meters to PM5000 / PM5500 / PM8000 models when replacement is required.
Recommended Site Review Checklist
- Confirm exact PM700 Series model: PM700, PM700P, PM710 or PM750.
- Confirm whether RS485 Modbus or pulse output is available.
- Confirm whether the meter is still operational and whether display readings are correct.
- Confirm CT ratio, CT secondary rating, CT class, CT burden and CT polarity.
- Confirm voltage wiring configuration and control power supply.
- Confirm Modbus address, baud rate, parity and register mapping for PM710 / PM750.
- Confirm pulse scaling for PM700P / PM750 if pulse output is used.
- Confirm existing EMS, BMS, SCADA or monitoring software dependency.
- Confirm whether the meter should be integrated, retained, replaced or upgraded.
- Test readings, communication and data quality before connecting into IoTWatt 4.0.
