Single Crystal
Ultrasonic single crystal transducers are suitable for most routine testing applications. They are also required in certain cases, such as when using tandem or delta techniques.
Twin crystal
Twin crystal (dual element or TR) transducers, which consist of a separate transmitter and receiver, are recommended when improved near-surface resolution is needed, for example, to detect small defects at shallow depths.
