Cleanroom Plastic Class 100 (ISO 5) for Semiconductor Applications

Cleanroom Plastic Class 100 (ISO 5) for Semiconductor Applications

Cleanroom plastic Class 100 (ISO 5) refers to plastic materials designed for highly controlled environments where contamination must be kept to a minimum. These materials are widely used in semiconductor, electronics, and precision manufacturing industries.

To meet ISO 5 requirements, cleanroom plastics must have low particle generation, minimal contamination, and be produced under controlled conditions. Depending on application, materials may also be anti-static (ESD safe), silicone-free, or amine/amide-free.

Common materials include:

  • Cleanroom LDPE – flexible, widely used for bags and liners
  • Nylon (PA) – stronger and suitable for tubing or heavy-duty use
  • ESD plastics – protect sensitive electronic components

These plastics are commonly used for wafer handling, component packaging, and cleanroom storage, helping reduce defects and maintain product quality.
