The launch of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Masterplan and Investment Blueprint, originally scheduled for March 30, 2026, has been officially postponed.
The decision was made following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. A new launch date has yet to be announced.
According to the Ministry of Economy, both the Investment Blueprint and Masterplan are still being finalised. These documents will outline the overall strategy, investment direction, and detailed implementation framework for the JS-SEZ.
At this stage, no specific reason has been provided for the postponement, but it is understood that the government is completing the necessary details before the official release.
Despite the delay, the long-term vision for the JS-SEZ remains intact:
While the official announcement is delayed, development momentum and investor interest in Johor continue to build. The JS-SEZ remains a key initiative aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Malaysia and Singapore, attracting investments, and driving long-term growth in the region.
