KUALA LUMPUR (June 3) — The Ampang Line has resumed operations under a temporary service arrangement following extensive repair works carried out after last week's incident near Chan Sow Lin Station.
According to Rapid KL, passengers travelling between Putra Heights and Sentul Timur can now complete their journeys without the need for any train transfers.
However, commuters travelling between Ampang and Sentul Timur will be required to make a single train transfer at Chan Sow Lin Station. Rapid KL said the temporary arrangement is expected to add approximately five minutes to travel time during peak periods.
The public transport operator stated that support personnel will continue to be stationed at key locations to assist passengers and help manage the anticipated increase in ridership following the long holiday period.
To support the temporary operating mode, Rapid KL has deployed 10 complimentary feeder shuttle buses serving two routes:
Chan Sow Lin – Masjid Jamek – Bandaraya
Chan Sow Lin – Maluri – Pandan Jaya – Ampang
The shuttle buses will operate at intervals of between 15 and 20 minutes, subject to traffic conditions.
Rapid KL said its engineering and technical teams have completed repairs, replaced affected components, and restored the necessary systems. Comprehensive inspections were also conducted on train assets and infrastructure to ensure safety, reliability, and operational performance.
The repair effort included the removal and rerailing of the affected train, with all carriages subsequently transported to a depot for detailed inspections and assessments.
Despite the resumption of services, Rapid KL noted that additional inspections, technical verifications, system adjustments, and specialised monitoring activities remain ongoing to ensure that all operational and infrastructure elements continue to meet safety requirements.
