Johor Tech Smart City Expected to Create 10,000 Job Opportunities

KULAI — The Johor Tech Smart City development is expected to create approximately 10,000 job opportunities as the project progresses, reinforcing Johor's ambition to become a regional technology and innovation hub.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the development is designed to attract high-value industries, including artificial intelligence, advanced technology, research and development, and smart agriculture. The project is also expected to support economic growth and strengthen Johor's competitiveness in attracting domestic and foreign investments.

Located within the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), the development is planned as an integrated smart city that combines industrial, commercial and residential components to support long-term economic development in the state.

The Johor Tech Smart City initiative forms part of the state's broader strategy to position Johor as a leading destination for technology-driven investment while creating more employment opportunities for local talent.
