Proton Teases Future Tech And Special Displays For KLIMS 2026

Proton is preparing a variety of attractions for visitors at the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2026), including new vehicle models, future hybrid technology, smart mobility displays, and other exciting exhibits.

One of the highlights will be the Proton X50 Sport Edition, a special version based on the recently updated X50. Visitors can also expect to see other refreshed Proton models such as the S70 MC1, X90 MC, X70 MC3, and Saga MC3.

According to information shared by Proton on Facebook, the company's booth will also feature a humanoid robot, an Intelligent Mobility Zone, and a display of its upcoming FutureMotion Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Technology alongside its current vehicle range.

The FutureMotion HEV display may give visitors a preview of Proton's future hybrid plans. Currently, Proton does not offer any hybrid models after the previous X90 mild hybrid version was discontinued.

During the Proton Tech Showcase held last December, the company revealed plans to introduce hybrid technology in future models. Proton also showcased a 1DHT hybrid transmission, developed together with Horse Powertrain, which can be used in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles. This transmission is expected to be used in upcoming models, including the AMA02, which is widely known as the "Saga Cross."

On the electric vehicle side, Proton eMas is expected to introduce a new version of the Proton eMas 7 at KLIMS 2026. The updated model could feature a larger 68.39 kWh battery, replacing the previous 60.22 kWh battery, offering improved driving range.

Visitors may also get a closer look at the Proton eMas 5, which could make its appearance as a locally assembled (CKD) model. Production of the compact EV is expected to begin in Tanjong Malim this month.

With new models, future hybrid technology, and electric vehicle developments on display, Proton is expected to have one of the most interesting showcases at Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026.
