WeChat has officially connected with QR payment systems in five countries, making cross-border payments much easier.

 Supported Countries & Systems

The newly integrated systems include:

•  DuitNow QR (Malaysia)
•  SGQR+ (Singapore)
•  PromptPay (Thailand)
•  ZeroPay (South Korea)
•  LANKAQR (Sri Lanka)

 This means Malaysian users can simply scan and pay with WeChat when visiting these countries — no need to switch apps.

Previously, traveling meant:

• Exchanging cash 
• Downloading local payment apps
• Or paying extra card fees

Now, as long as the merchant supports local QR payments, you can just use WeChat to scan and pay — fast and convenient.
